Lutheran School of Theology St Louis is pleased to invite you to a one-day in-person event on Thursday, May 26, 2022 with the Rev. Kristin Johnston Largen, Ph.D., President of Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.

Dr. Largen describes her focus for our time together in this way:

“We all know this has been a challenging 2+ years. Many of us are exhausted, many of us are discouraged, and many of us find ourselves viewing the world through a lens of hopelessness. This is understandable, of course, but there is another way. Through the creativity and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, God is calling us to a different perspective, a different orientation. I argue that in this particular moment in time, a moment I would say is a Kairos moment, God is inviting us to share in the presence and power of God’s hope, and to participate in that orientation to the neighbor and the stranger in the larger world. Therefore, in our time together, we will explore what it might mean to view the world, our current situation, through the lens of hope.”

We hope you and your colleagues and friends will join us for this special event in the Fellowship Hall of Christ Lutheran Church, 1 Selma Avenue, Webster Groves, MO from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Coffee, tea, snacks and lunch are included in the registration fee of $60. Information will be sent describing current safety protocols of the church by May 20.
