With Rabbi Michael Harvey

Thursdays via Zoom:

4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18

9:30am - 10:30am CST

Lutheran School of Theology is pleased to present six sessions via Zoom with Rabbi Michael Harvey in April and May, 2023.

Michael E. Harvey is an ordained rabbi, a hospital chaplain, and a social justice advocate with extensive experience serving congregations and leading large-scale community change. His passion is for bringing
deep Jewish understanding to the lay public.

Rabbi Mike, as he likes to be called, is the author of Let’s Talk: A Rabbi Speaks to Christians, which was written as an outgrowth of his inter-faith work and desire to bring clarity and deeper understanding to Christian clergy, church leaders, and lay people who wish to expand their knowledge about the Jewish aspects and roots of their faith. His work is dedicated to diminishing conflict between Jews and Christians as he opens interfaith dialog and eases tensions from misunderstandings in the past. Rabbi Mike’s style is very relational as he seeks to build bridges among people of all faith perspectives.

Those who participate in this class will receive a copy of his book upon registration. It is hoped that the class presentations and content in the book will shape the journey of participants toward scholarship and interfaith education. In this way, the class can serve as a jumping-off point for new discoveries, new philosophical views on old topics, and a hunger for new material. The book can be used as a teaching and discussion guide for adult education sessions of any size, and continue to be a handy reference guide.

Dates and Times: Zoom sessions on Thursdays: April 13, 20, 27, May 4, 11, 18, 9:30 – 10:30 am Central Time

Registration: $50 includes a copy of Let’s Talk: A Rabbi Speaks to Christians
upon registration. Please register by March 20 to assure receipt of book prior to the first class.
